Abstract
Clean water is a basic need in human life and functions as a very vital natural resource. Clean water treatment units in Gorontalo City play a role in meeting the need for clean water for consumption. This study aims to evaluate the drinking water treatment process, the quality of the water produced, and the drinking water treatment procedures by the water treatment unit. The method used in this study is a descriptive approach with a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods. Data collection was carried out by taking water samples at several distribution points for laboratory testing, interviews with employees of the clean water treatment unit, and careful observation of the treatment procedures applied. The results of the study showed that the water treatment process in the Gorontalo City unit consists of several main stages, including filtration, coagulation, sedimentation, and disinfection. The results of laboratory tests showed that the quality of the water produced generally meets the drinking water quality standards in accordance with the Regulation of the Minister of Health Number 492/MENKES/PER/IV/2010 concerning Drinking Water Quality Requirements.
